After the recent incidents on our streets (this one in particular) I’m a little more tense/aware when I ride to and from work.  When I hear stories about drivers being aggressive towards bikers and vice-versa I get a little nervous and worked up about the bike vs. car issue.  That’s when I need to remind myself that I’m actually treated very well on the streets as I ride and I do my best to return the favor while driving. Twice in the last month, a car has taken a right turn over a bike lane without signaling and while I was in said bike lane one car-length back.  Both times I was forced to stop abruptly, ready to scream or at least flip the bird. However, I held back and just pedaled harder to work out that frustration.  It’s just a driver, people make mistakes.  I can only hope that the driver saw me and will be more aware next time.  I’m lucky so far.
